Dear Pastors and Praying Friends,
I know that this letter is coming out just a little bit late, but I wanted to wait until the first surgery for Joshua was done. God has been so good to us, and he looks great. On the 4th of April, they did a repair on his cleft lip and a procedure on his gum. This procedure will allow the soft tissue to grow like it ought to so that it will make the bone graft easier when it is time to do this around 8 years old. They also put tubes in his ears to let all of the fluids drain.
A week after his surgery, the ears are still flowing like crazy, and we have to clean them out 4 to 5 times a day. We are hoping that this gets better as time goes by. Even though it is a lot of work, it is well worth it. Before the surgery, he was deaf. It is neat to see him now as he starts to understand what it is like to hear things. He looks great, and the surgeries all went very well. We have follow up appointments with him at 2 weeks with the surgeon and at 4 to 6 weeks with the ENT doctor. The next surgery should be done in July. This is the important one for speech and everything else. Pray that all goes well.
Omega Baptist Church, under the leadership of Jeremy Hall, is doing great! The church should be celebrating their 1 year anniversary mid April, and they just finished their first missions conference last week. One of the amazing things was to see how God has laid on their hearts to give to Faith Promise missions. This year, our brand new church has committed to give right at $5,000. We are excited to see how God is using Bro. Jeremy Hall and the members to have a passion for the world. By the way, that number does not even include any monies coming from us as missionaries.
I figured you would want to see a picture of Joshua from before and after so I included that. If you want to stay up to date with us check out our blog www.uttermost.net. Sign up to be part of our TMT (text messaging team), you can do that by emailing us with your number and name. We usually send one update a week. If you would like to have us in to present our ministry for the potential of support or to give you an update as one of your supported missionaries, please let us know. You can write us at [email protected]. We are staying busy, and we are thankful for all the places where God has opened doors for us thus far. Thanks for being a faithful supporter of our ministry and for praying for us.
Yours for Souls,
Chris, Andria, Jacob, Hannah, Andrew and Joshua
