Dear Brethren:
It is a pleasure to be able to communicate with you and share the blessings of God in our lives and ministries. I want to begin by thanking Pastor Ruben Effio from the Callo Lima Baptist Church for the family conference from May 20 to 22nd.
Esmirna Baptist Church
We began the month by celebrating the Lord’s Supper, then five brethren from the church were baptized. We additionally began a Bible institute in our church with courses in New Testament Survey and Counseling. There are nine individuals that are participating in the classes.
I want to ask for your prayers for the opportunity to move the church to a new location, where it’ll be a little bit bigger, but also a little bit more expensive. On Sunday the 29th, we went with some of the men from the church to see the location, and they fell in love with it! They are aware of the challenge, (the rent will be almost $900 USD per month), but we will pray about the matter and make a decision in the coming weeks.
Hunter Baptist Church
Last month, we held the Lord’s Supper as well as participated in the United Choir practices which are preparing for youth conference the end of July at the seminary. In June, we will have our Mission’s Conference, and our church will be celebrating our 22nd anniversary. We will be having our local missionaries in at this time. It will be a very exciting week! I ask for your prayers. It will be the week of June 16-19.
Berea Baptist Church
During this month, as at the church in Hunter, we will be covering the subject of missions. We have had many visitors in our church, and people that have come as a result of the brethren at this church. Sister Clara, the owner of the house that we rent for the services, continues to be discipled by Sister Elizabeth de Aragon, wife of the assistant pastor, Edgar Aragon.
Macedonia Baptist Seminary
We had a special event on Saturday, May 28th. We needed help to be able to cover expenses for Brother Elio Hilares who had fractured his left arm, and the surgery cost around $2,500 USD. Many of the churches in our city participated in sports and purchased plates of food we had prepared. I thank each person for their generosity.
From the 7th until the 10th of June, we will be taking our monthly tests and from the 14th to the 16th of June, we will be having a missionary who serves in North Africa come visit us. He will be sharing about his work in this area with the students and teachers in our institution.
Christian School
On Friday the 13th of May, we participated in a special ceremony in which together with other schools in our location, various students received their school police badges. Andrea, my daughter, spoke, representing the brigadier of each educational institution. The chef of police and the mayor of our district were also in attendance.
I ask your prayers for:
• The missions conference at Hunter from the 16th to the 19th of June.
• The missions conference in Iquique that I will teach from June 23 to 26.
• The medical campaigns in two churches here in our city.
God bless you,
Miguel Murillo
