Miguel Murillo February/March 2011 Prayer Letter

We would like to greet you once again. We thank God for another month of blessings and protection.

Macedonia Baptist Seminary

We begin the month with the Lady’s Conference, which was organized by pastor and missionary wives here in our city. This occurred between the 1st and 4th of March, and there were more than 170 participants from Lima, Moquegua, Puno, and various other places, including Arequipa. The classes were a great blessing to the ladies.

From March 18th to Sunday the 20th, I taught a Marriage Retreat in Ilo, which is almost 6 hours away from our city. The retreat was organized by two churches: Peniel (from this city) and Open Door in Moquegua. There were more than 80 people, between children and adults. Pastors Samuel Huaman and Wilber Hallasi did a great job.

We finished the month of February with a Teen Camp in Camana, organized by the churches Lighthouse, Getsemani, and Victory. There were around 140 participants in the classes, and many decisions were made. Individuals came from Lima, Chivay, Moquegua, and various churches in Arequipa. The pastors were able to work together to do all we could.

This Tuesday, the 22nd, we began classes in the Seminary. Between the various new students, there is a couple from Chile, a city about 6 hours from Santiago, as well as a young person from Chivay.

Berea Baptist Church

This month, we completed one year since we began meeting in the Garate family home who permitted us to have the meetings in their home. We had a special lunch on Sunday, the 27th, during which a missionary from Ecuador, Jonathan Ramirez, preached. There were more than 50 individuals present, among which there were 4 visitors. Please remember to pray for the Day of the Visitor that we will have on Saturday March 12th during which we will pass out letters and tracts inviting more families. I am thankful for the help of the brethren and leaders at the churches in Esmirna and Hunter who will be helping us.

Esmirna Baptist Church

Sunday, the 13th, we held our Wedding Vow Renewal in which 20 marriages participated. Many of them are people who have recently began to come to church and to see their homes transformed by the Word of God encourages us greatly.

Hunter Baptist Church

We also held the Wedding Vow Renewal on Sunday evening, the 13th. There were almost 15 couples that came to the altar and renewed their commitment to continue together come what may. The young people and teens held a banquet for Valentines’ Day with more than 80 in attendance between the two days.

Christian School

We begin our classes on Monday March 7th. We have almost everything ready: desks, educational material, schedules, among other things. I thank God for the twelve Christian teachers that have contributed this year to the spiritual lives of our children and young people.

We ask your prayers for:

*Our trip to the city of Chiclay in the north of the country, to preach at the anniversary service of the Good News Baptist Church with pastor Sergio Serquen (a former Seminary student) on the 10 -13th of March.
*The seminary and the Christian School: the new students and their accounts
*Visits to Hunter and Esmirna from Missionary to Pucallpa Henry Vasquez on Sunday the 27th. We hope to be able to support him in the coming months.

We always remember you with much appreciation. God Bless.
