VBC Morning Service 9-30-18
Heart there as for this picture of a foundation there wasn't many photographers back in the day. So we just this isn't the real Foundation picture here. But this is where they were left for 15 years in this situation at the end the chapter number for a discouraged people there for 15 years what they had done had now come to a stop here.
Chapter 4 and verse number 1 says now when the adversaries of Judah and Benjamin heard that the children of captivity builded the temple unto the Lord God of Israel. Once they heard that they were doing something for God and building a temple. They got involved. They got interested is an amazing the world doesn't mind we can do this about whatever you want.
And this world. Nobody can tell you that you're doing wrong and the day we live in Seth when you go to serve God, there's always going to be opposition. They heard about it and they show up on the scene there. But with the time had come that already built an altar chapter 3 tells us they'd already begin to make sacrifices unto the Lord there and they had laid a foundation.
Remember the foundation we learned that in a it said that the younger people were excited about it and the older people cry. And it was just this weird emotion that's going on. Some people were crying and then some people are laughing and their excitement laughing with her cheering with excitement about what's going on.
The older people had seen the first Temple and so when they saw the foundation laid their hearts were broken and they're saying well this one won't be as great as the other one, but High guy tells us in chapter. Number two that this other one would be greater than the first one and why is the greater?
Why is this one greater than the first one because in Luke chapter number 2 Jesus will be carried in here to this Temple. So anything that you build that would bring Jesus into what accommodate him would be the greater there, but they suddenly stop there show me that picture once again of the foundation and how that is.
I remember this church is being built and I have. Background and building so I couldn't imagine at all when I would walk around and from one room to another and they would say well this is going to be your youth room and I'm like man, I think so big and then I come back next time. It's like well this seems really small I could get my head around it until they started framing it in there.
But here's a foundation and they looked at it and so they get to a place where they're where they have to stop as it said as we read last time in 423 they came to them with force and with power. They said you have to stop doing this work and then for 15 years they sit in this area of discouragement.
I can't even imagine what that is like At first. Maybe it's the first weekend. They stopped working. Are they still meeting and talking about when they're going to get back? Are they still keeping their tools ready to get back in the work and then maybe a few more weeks come by and they haven't visited anymore.
They don't like walking about buy it because it's a reminder of the work that they were doing for the Lord and now they're. Few months and maybe they're making excuses about it even farther in the Rockwell. We can't work on that. So let's find something else we can work on and we learn they start putting all their attention into their houses and all that they're doing there and they're building their houses and who knows after the first couple years maybe kids are playing soccer in it.
If it's invented by then, maybe they're playing some game that's going on. And after 15 years is a long time if you're younger than 15 in here, would you raise? Your hand. All right, some of you all right 15 years their entire lifetime. There was just the foundation over there that may not have had any meaning to them and what's being done and not only changes a building but that begins to change a people family devotion them time pray for Dad is he's been working on the temple.
He's tired at night pray for the work that's going on pray for Fayette Phase 2 that's coming on. But no longer is it focused on the work in obedience to the Lord but it begins to turn inwards and to their selves because what else is there to do? If we're not on a mission for the Lord then there's nothing else in this world the focus on we become self-centered and we start looking at ourselves.
This is kind of a Cheesy store, but it really resonated with me when I read it if Satan was to have a yard sale. All right. Sometimes when my wife comes back from yard saling I think she visited Satan's yard sales. Okay, bring back all kinds of stuff. I didn't know I needed there but it's Satan was having a yard sale and all the things that he had.
They had a high price there. But someone was at Satan's yard, so one day and they looked at all the things that I picked up one and the price is far greater than all the others and that one item was the scourge of meant because he said with this item I can pry open the hearts of men and do more damage than everything else.
This is the scourge them. That's what happened 15 years of discouragement 15 years of raising your family just discourage that nothing is happening that you can do it. They had lost her fight and they were just so persuasive the people that came Pastor talked about it, but I want to review I want you to set here in this field for a moment this Foundation when they came to them.
They said let us work with you in for to let us build with you for we seek your God as you do and we do sacrifice them to them. Let's get involved in this with the leaders knew. And for three is Rebel said you have nothing to do with us build a house unto our God but we ourselves together will build into the Lord God of Israel people come in and they said hey, let's help you in that compromise that happened.
These people didn't really have a heart for the things of God. But they begin to distract them. They were these naysayers. Okay, there's one little voice went Joe. If you put that picture Steven up that I put them on the screen. They would allow their hearts. It would affect their behavior and their speech here.
Okay. It's kind of like Stephen Cofield a Tennessee fan here among all this Georgia people. Okay, and so it starts out as this one person. They led into the stadium. But as he's talking he gets the guy beside on the become a Tennessee fan and then it spreads a little farther and farther. He was a group of people that had built a foundation.
They had built an altar they had a mind to do the work of the Lord. But here comes some people in and they sit down beside them and they just offer something remember Tennessee is losers. Satan is a loser. Okay, that is the point there for you. It's Satan was that the team would be the University of Tennessee here.
All right Pastor gun watching her case from Tennessee here, but you can change that distract the saw them but just one person and I couldn't believe when I saw that picture there how overwhelmed Stephen. They're in such a loyal fan tomb there. I couldn't believe there was it more Tennessee fans. So Peyton Manning was right in front of them.
He's a die-hard Tennessee fan of here. And so but it just begins to spread. It didn't start out. They were in the majority. They were people wanting to serve God but that doubt comes in mind. They begin the question of what's going to happen here. This is what they said in 412 you're building the rebellious and a bad City having set up the walls, they're of and join the foundation.
I thought we were doing a good work here that we're doing something for God. I thought we were doing something that was needed and then it begins to change in there - now you're doing a rebellious work. You're just Rebels here. What's going on here? I love how it says that in Nehemiah. Some guys come to them and Nehemiah for to and it says and he spake before the brother and the Armistice mirror and said, what do these feeble Jews that will fortify themselves?
And they sacrifice will they make it in the day and will they revive the stones of the Heap of the rubbish which is burned? All right, unless your hand an alien new from Northern Ireland here. You probably don't use the word rubbish. All right, but these people are using the word rubbish and they said these people Jews if they build this wall, which we'll get to in the Amaya with all this rubbish.
They can't do it. And then you have Judah a little bit. He's saying the same thing in chapter number 10 this or verse number 10 this eight verses later. One of the guys that had been building and Judah said the strength of the bearers burdens us decayed and there was much rubbish so that we are not able to build the wall.
The thing that the accusers are saying the people that were there to weaken their hands the thing that the people that were there to discourage them there were saying they got lodged in their mind they got lodged in their heart and now it's coming out in the way that they're talking to one another and now here's Judah saying, Guys, there's a so much work to be done.
I don't know if we're going to get it done. Look at all this rubbish around here has the words of the accuser found the place in your heart. Are you sitting there has God placed something in your heart to do for him and for his honor and your glory we know what it is in our generation to do that the whole world would hear but he has a place that he wants you in the work and he has placed a dream in your heart to do that work, but maybe you got discouraged maybe begin to listen.
To the wrong team here Satan wants to Define your sentence. He was the convince you in this case. He wanted them to choose Comfort over finishing the temple here. They were physically spent they retired. He likes the question asked us to ask questions. We see that all the way back in the garden, right if I can just get them to start doubting and questioning here.
I love how it says in Psalm 17 verse number 1 this is. David it's a it's a prayer from David and he says here the right O Lord and attended to My Cry give ear unto my prayer that goeth not out of Fame lips. Let my sentence come from thy presence let Thine Eyes behold the things that are equal right there.
It says let my sentence come forth from thy presence where else would the sentence coming it was from Saul who was. You're just a rebel it was from other people questioning David and if you know was going on but he was not going to let the world the fine who he was and what he was going to do. He says I want my sentence I want what said about me the come from the god of Heaven.
How do we get to this place where they had started and built an altar after all those years of captivity and it was on their heart. They wanted to do something. The enemy just came in. He changed the sentenced he changed who they were. That's why this letter is so exciting chapter number 15 because when you see that letter written about them, they're like, who are they talking about?
Not those cowardly people that weren't building Foundation something drastically changes between between the end of four and chapter number 15, and we're going to see what changes and what happens here and we have to ignore here the children of Israel needed to ignore the accusations made against them and I don't know what it is in here that you need to ignore, but you need to not listen.
To that noise to the distraction that tells you that you're not enough you say how do I know the difference right because I can't take every opportunity that comes on way everything that needs to happen. I can't do it all so how do I know if it's God telling me to slow down not take on too much be spending too many plates or if it's the devil trying to discourage me.
Let me remind you our God says. Come unto me all you that are weary and heavy-laden. Our God says draw close to me. I will help you when you're weak. I believe in you. I want you to be a successful life. I want obedience to the scripture Joshua. 1:8 That's What God Says Satan's way the say is you're not good enough.
You're not smart enough. You can't do this. God doesn't is an interest in using you? That's the voice of Satan. When you hear the voice, what does it say about the way God cares about you that's going to let you know where it is coming from there and there's so many works and our communities around the world that is sit waiting there.
Have you ever looked anybody in the eyes that you knew that if you wanted to say that small Yes to God and taking that step of faith that you wouldn't have been involved in their lives and known that every decision you ever made was worth it the serve God God cares about. So we care about people we're not working with bricks.
We're not working with stones. We're working with people people matter the God and so they matter to us and there's a world of hurt around this there's a world of need around us and God wants to use you to get involved in somebody's life and the do something and the help them and the share price with them the show them the love of Christ.
But where weary and were discouraged and our hands are we. Because we haven't been listening to the voice of God. There is a work to be done. If we look at the work around the world and in this community that needs to be done you have to wonder if God is not interested in working or if his children had become preoccupied in Leicester Pursuits is the dream that God had placed in your heart to make a difference in this world going to die there.
God wants to confront you today with his word. Don't let your heart be the place that dreams would go and die. You know, what do they say some of the saddest things that can be said is what could have been right? What could have been done if I would have got involved here. So here's some people I take you back to chapter 4 pastor preached a great message to listen to it online, but they're just discouraged and I just relate with those people.
Have you been there? Have you are you there? Now, you know that you're headed there again we get discourage there. But then if chapter 5 verse 1 and 2, this is what God does here. He gives them a confrontation with himself in his word. Then the prophets had gotten the prophet Zechariah the son of Ito prophesied into the Jews that were in Judah and in Jerusalem and the name of God of Israel even unto them.
And then what is the response in verse number 2 then rose up? They responded to the word of God God sends a message to his Messengers and we see how it is received. They heard the word of God speak and they got up no longer. Is that thing going to sit there empty? It's going to get done now and why did it change not because somebody came and made a plea with them not because somebody was emotionally stood in front of them.
Not because somebody told them all the benefits of themselves, but because they heard from God you have that opportunity the day. For the word of God to move from being discouraged to be involved in the work. If you will listen to him. He rose up to the work that was there in an e-mail this week it get kind of an email summary what's going on around the world and called the morning broom and at the bottom of it it said.
It has these funny phrases and it says that the church is the only book club that never changes books. All right, I don't know if they thought they were being funny about us or if they really understood something about us. I'll take it as a compliment, right? We are a book club that never changes book.
All right, it's always going to be the Bible every time no matter who the preacher is is the Bible and why is it the Bible because we believe this is the word of God and if the word of God doesn't change and fix and heal our hearts. Nothing, will there's nothing else together around if it isn't the word of God here, so he sends two different kinds of Messengers.
So Zechariah, he's a younger guy. He presents a bigger picture. He gives on Prophecy. He has some great passages where it says in says therefore saith unto them. Thus saith the Lord of hosts. Turn ye unto me saith the Lord of hosts and I will turn unto you saith the Lord of hosts. That was the book were in when we first moved in.
To this building. It's a book full of Prophecy and Jesus little harder to read and understand but how I got here. He's older and he's as straight to the point. He doesn't hold any punches. So God says these two preachers and even though their message and the way they deliver their message was different.
Well, their message was the same but the way they would present would be different. It was they were hearing from God listen to what it says in haggai chapter number 1 and verse number 2 as we talk about the message that was sent to these people. It says the speak at the Lord of hosts saying this people say this the time has not come the time that the Lord's house shall be built.
Then came the word of the Lord by haggai the prophet saying it is time for you. Oh ye that dwell in your ceiled houses. And this house lay waste now therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts. Consider your ways. Everybody was saying it ain't time to work on that. All right, there'll be another time that is not the time and haggis right up there and their face and he says, Consider your ways.
It is far time for this Temple to be built something needs to happen here. He preaches it's over a matter of just a few months of his entire Ministry, but with they respond immediately to what he's saying once they come and they're met by the word of God. They had been in these ceiled houses and they've been working on.
I did a little word study here and ceiled houses that shiplap. Okay, if your wife is trying to get you make your house have shiplap everywhere. It's against the Bible. All right. All right. I'm sure that's what that means there. And so they had Focus all their attention on their homes, and they said it's just not time later on.
I'll get. I will do that work here. He brought encouragement to them how I got to five according to the word that I've coveted with you when you came out of Egypt. So my spirit remaineth among you fear. Ye not get about the work do it. There's no reason that Temple should be like that God's word brings an awareness of his presence as God aware of the children of Israel for those 15 years that he leave the scene and go to another part of the world that he not look at them that he not see.
They're as David would pray in the sun. We already read that he said make me as the apple of your eye the center of your eye was not the children of Israel on God's heart on his mind there most certainly but were they aware of that fact, they are told this before I worked at a YMCA in college. I couldn't get the kids to pay attention.
So I'll set him down and I said, all right, even when I'm not around you need to know God's watching you they all started crying and I got in a lot of trouble there. It was a very good tactic to get. The pay attention to you, but we're aware of the fact that God is ever present and ever aware we should be but they lost it right because they stopped doing the work that was there.
They sort of focusing on themselves. It says in his room 5 3 and 5. It says who has commanded you to build this house and make up this wall and then said unto him after this manner. What are the names of the men are making this building but the eye of their God was upon the Elders of the Jews. It said that the I being upon them kept them going in the work the fact that they were aware of it.
There's a verse that we should all cherish and you know, it second chronicles 16:9 16 verse 9 the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the Earth to show himself strong on them to have a heart that is perfect. And that was complete towards them. That's where they're at. Right now. They say God we don't know what's going to happen.
We don't know how the this letter is going to be responded to. But we're people of Integrity where people that are completely given over to you and God you're watching us and you can show Yourself Strong they are they're aware of the presence that as they are it wasn't that the circumstances had changed, but the word of God was changing their heart and they're now ready to do something.
I'm sure I've shared this story with you before such a powerful story. Don't remember the name of the of the college athlete, but he didn't. He didn't play it was a senior year. He begged the coach for an opportunity to start and the play he gets some playing time. He makes a few plays he ends up playing the whole game at the end of the game.
They go to him to give him the game ball. They said you just played such an incredible game what got into you. He said coach, you know, my dad's come to all my practice is all my games. He passed away last week. You don't know this about my dad, but he was blind came to all of my games, but he never saw me play.
He says the way that I see it today. This is the first time that my dad was ever able to watch me play football. So I'm going to play for that audience of one. That's where the children are Israel of Israel are right now. It's a you go on write your letter go talk to the king you do your thing. I'm going to do my thing and I have a temple to be built because they focus on the fact that God was watching them above all other things nothing less.
There's going to keep us going right. We cancer because one of us is watching each other. I don't want to disappoint you and you don't want to disappoint me and that will bring us some level Ministry, but it's not going to last the eyes of the Lord are upon us today. Not only that which is a positive message here.
I was the Lord upon us, but the word of God confronts in in the most wonderful way. But after that verse 12, but after that the fathers had provoked the god of Heaven unto wrath he gave them into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon the child in who destroyed this house and Care the people way in the Babylon the guy walks up with his a clipboard and he's asked them some questions.
Who are you where the children of God? What are you doing? Who you working for? Who work for the god of Heaven? How did you get in the situation? And they said well, let me tell you a story. Our fathers had sinned and God took us into captivity. But now he has delivered us they're aware of the punishment that they had for sin, but they know that it's a wonderful thing now, they're not they're not mad about it.
But they know it was God's loving provision. They testify that it was God not the rulers of the earth that put them in captivity understanding our past is such an important part of moving forward God's chastisement is an expression of his love for his children. I was in jail. Couple weeks ago by choice.
We have a jail ministry here should have started with that and a couple weeks ago when I was in the jail Ministry a guy came in that and seen before big old, dude. All right look like you play it in a film and his name was Zorro or he said his name was Errol and I didn't ask him of those real his name that look like Zorro big guy, and he I never met him before and he was telling me he said I was making so much money in my business because I'm making $30,000 a week and this tree business going on.
I was volunteering at my church. I was serving at this hospice and everything. I'm thinking man what happened? He said I just decided that I could get involved in some of the things that I've done when I was younger. So doing some drugs on the side just for recreation and all that got pulled over the other day.
I forgot I had it in my bag. They should have never searched my car, but they searched my car and they found it and now her I own this big old dude search crying. Everybody's looking at him. He says I want you to know. That I'm a child of God and that my God loves me too much to let me continue in my sin and my family is disappointed and I'm losing money right now, but he said my God didn't let me continue in my sin.
He brought me here, and I'm. Story time's over gasps there. It is. Every head bowed and every eye closed look at that right there what an example he looked at the past and they said it and here are these people work in there saying we were in captivity God did that because he loves us too much to continue you're looking at your past and you're looking at some kind of excuse you're not there anymore.
God brought you out of that. Don't let that be the excuse that the temple doesn't get built that you don't do that. Look at it through the perspective of a god that is restored you to where you're at see it through his eyes if you're asked Jonah who threw him into the sea. He wouldn't say men. He would say was the god of Heaven.
Yes, the children of Israel put them in captivity. He won't tell you the Babylonians. It was the god of Heaven There you as Zorro who put him in jail. It wasn't the Forsyth County Sheriff's it was the god of Heaven here. The answer is they're loving and all-knowing God would not allow them to continue and there Sam and it motivated him forward to do a work when we ignore the word.
We lose our understanding of our role in this world is God confronting your sin today knowing he is watching our lives. How do you want to respond? That's going to determine who you are and how you think about yourself or the children of God they are. They're ready to Proclaim their identity that is found there with their relationship and God, I love.
I just picture this guy there with a clipboard. He's trying to be trying to get somebody's name on paper, right they come around here people show up. Sometimes the fire marshal and different things. So we need to talk to somebody that works around here. I'm like you want to talk to Robert Canfield.
All right, Robert Elliot Canfield write that name down. Okay. I was just using the restroom about to leave. All right, and so they're trying to get somebody's name on the paper work there. And so they look at them to send out who are you again? And they said my name is I'm the child. Of God of Heaven That's so exciting.
Isn't it? There? They knew their identity their let's show this picture here Joe if you can put it up it kind of looks like a cob of corn there, but it's Cod. This is called the Cyrus grow. If you ever go to a London, you can see this thing here and none of us can read it that somebody could have read it and it's still there the day and.
And Cyrus wrote this and of all the things that they were able to figure out that he said one of the things that he says is I Cyrus King of the universe. All right little bit arrogant wasn't him and he calls himself the king of the universe. And so when they ask these people who do you work for and they don't respond with we serve the Persian Empire we serve Cyrus or they didn't give any answers like that and they said we serve the god of Heaven that seem like defiance.
But it wasn't was it. It was just a legion son to our God sometimes our Allegiance. Our God is going to look like the faience into this world and they're not going to understand it the Cyrus the saying about you this is about what's going on. This is about me having to deal work until Lord. I have a temple to be built.
All right, and I'm going to honor you and I'm going to be a good citizen, but there's going to need to be a temple here when we are done because God has called us to do it. They're our friends here that prayed earlier. Missionaries at China and other parts of the world good citizens in their country, but they say their government we're going to follow your rules all the we can but there has to be something built here.
There's going to have to be a church here. And so you want to know what we work for it's not America. It's not even just the church back in the States for Missions organization. We work for the god of heaven and he has decided and this city and Dalian he wants to church and so you go and do your thing and I'm going to do my thing, but we're going to build a church here.
And there's a work for you to do as well. One wears be says it like this. He says we do not weigh our options. We do not examine the Alternatives. We do not negotiate the terms we do what God tells us to do some of you they may sound like drudgery. It may sound like slavery. You don't know who it is.
We're talking about do you the god of heaven and serving him he decides he will set about Ezra Ezra 17. It says for Ezra had prepared his heart the seek the law of the Lord and to do it and the teaching Israel statutes and judgments the word of God confronts us with our sin here. It confronts us with awareness of his presence.
It also confronts our identity if you're reading the Bible and studying it as we're going through. But you're not doing what the back of our sign says when you draw when you leave here not just be hearers of the word but doers only of the word then you're not really hearing from God. You can hear me talk about information about the Bible Pastor Gardner in your life group teacher, but we hear from God when we say God we come to him and say I'm your child.
I'm your servant you tell me there's no longer any negotiation. Tell me what you want Lord and I will make it happen. I will go about doing. With all of my ability here and I asked you in here and I know the answer it's rhetorical has God placed something on your heart. And are you continuing to ignore it?
Are you involved in the word of the Lord here are in the work of the Lord that is going on here. God wants to play something on your heart. There's something to be done. Do you think God's done with this world? Do you think he's even done with our community? Do you not think that there's things that that.
When I look at my kids, I always pray and ask God what problems in this world have they've been brought here to not only create but also the solve right? What problems are they going to use that are you going to use them to solve? Is that a group of people in some Known Unknown part of the world?
They don't know about right now that doesn't have the gospel if there's some way in which the community can get involved but God wants to use every one of you and I can't say that enough. If time would allow on pretty sure I could call every one of you by name right now and put your name in the blank and it would be certainly true.
God wants everyone of you. He has something special for you to do for his honor and for his glory and are you going to get to the work and are you going to go about doing it? So here's our window of work Ezra 517 at the end of this chapter it says. Now therefore it would seem good to the king. Let there be a search made in the Kings Treasure House, which is there at Babylon whether it be so that a decree was made of Cyrus the king to build his house of God at Jerusalem and let the king send its pleasure to us concerning the matter.
So they wrote that letter and they give it to him and now they're going to take off and I hear that they had built a road that was like 1600 a highway basically where every 15 miles they could switch horse and they would continue and they get a letter. And so unlike most times in history at this point a letter could get to the other side could get to the king and it was there and they said you're going to we got to talk to the king about this.
We need to know you said that the other king gave you permission to do this a long time ago, but we don't remember that you had permission to do this and so in chapter 6 they're going to search and they're going to find if the Earthly authorities had given them permission to build the temple and they said you go along but we're going to keep building and as they're there.
We just have a little bit of time now to work knowing the window is short your life is short eternity is sure you need to do it. Now. You don't need to be putting off what God has for you. They didn't wait for a response. They didn't need permission from this world the do something from God. You're never going to get it.
You're never going to have all the circumstances right your schedules never going to line up just the way that you want it. You're not going to get all the resources you need. To move forward but what you can have is God has placed this in my heart and I want to do it for him, you know helping other people getting the gospel around the world that isn't something that Satan places in your heart and that is nothing that your flesh has brought up on its own.
That is the work of God as we sung other earlier about that unfathomable. Well of Grace, I just sat there and I thought about how would God takes something as small and is finite as me. To make an eternal difference isn't that crazy? It's just amazing to me people drive by the day and they don't even know who we are up here on the hill as coming by possibly.
Some people want you won't ever find my name anywhere. I told one time how I went on Wikipedia and I put myself as the eighth most famous Cornwell and that you could do that for a few minutes before somebody else changes it right? And so I don't need to be famous in the world site. We don't have to be large.
But you can make an eternal difference. You can make a difference. I didn't 10,000 years from now. We will still be celebrating in somebody's life. I can't get over that that's amazing to me. Don't you want involved in that? I think you do. They had heard from God and because of that they were changed the word changes the way we view our work.
There's a group of people Joe give me the foundation of one last time for 15 years. They had been a group of people that have been planning much and they've been harvesting little they had Eden but they never had enough to eat they would drink but they were never satisfied they would make wages and they would put it in bags with holes in it and they didn't live this Rat Race and nothing was there but now they've been confronted by the word of God.
Through the prophets there, which we now still have the word of God in our hands the day they were confronted by the word of God and now they are people that are aware of the presence of God in their life. They were responsive the God's word and they identified as the children of God that were willing to do what he wanted.
No matter the cost what the what the difference that the word of God will make if you will, let it have its rightful place in your. I so badly want God to use my life. And I know that you want God to use your life, but it doesn't happen unless we say yes to him. I've never regretted saying yes to God regardless of what it looked like in the middle and even what it looks like now, and I don't know how it's going to end.
I've never regretted saying yes to God and I can promise you that you don't regret saying yes to God. I know it looks different for each one of you. We have a family here in a couple months. They're going to be working at a refuge Camp off from Greece. You know, why because when it came to the wit home family, they said yes God if that's what you want us to do you get your rightful say and our lives and God saying I have some work for you to do.
I want my work. I want my Kingdom built around the world and can you go over there take your tools with you and just do it work for a little bit. Come back would whole family we got something else for you? But they said yes say yes to him. I'm not looking for the say yes, because we have a million things that need to be done around the church.
We always have a million things than be done. We always need to be done. But I'm saying it as a brother to you. That knows what it's like to look at the work of God and say I'm discouraged and the say that I don't want to be involved in it. But I also know what it's like when the word of God comes into your life.
And you say this is the greatest thing in all the world you can be invited into this. So believer, there's an unfinished Foundation. What work is still waiting for you has God spoken to you the day and how will you respond to him? The invitation time is not a response to my message. It's a response to God's work in your heart.
And so you respond the way that he tells you the respond if it means getting your car and go somewhere then respond that way if it means come to the altar come to the altar that means bow your head and talk to him. It's your time to do business with the. Are you playing with an audience of one do you Delight in the fact that God is watching you and you know your weak but he's going to show himself strong Christian if you're involved in the work and even though you're getting discouraged here, you've had a stay at the work remember your identity and Christ.
And if you're an unbeliever in here, you might felt like the day that we didn't address you that we weren't talking to you. This was a password about God working through his children to do it. I don't remind you that you are our mission in life all that we do this church is going to give away two hundred and fifty thousand dollars this year for Missions because we want the gospel to get the people that hadn't heard.
We're going to put in dozens and dozens of hours of service this week serving because we want to make sure that you hear the gospel we live so that you can hear the. We want look forward to the day that we can go to heaven to be with Jesus, but it's more needful for us to be here in Alpharetta for you so that you have to crawl over us on your way to a christless eternity.
All we do is for you to hear the gospel because that's the work that he gave us to do and our generation is the make sure that every nation and every person hears the gospel. So if you and hear the day. Please allow us to do what God has called us to do which is the take the Bible and the open it and the answer any of your questions that you have.
I Promise You Jesus can pass your test. He is loving and he has paid the price. If you haven't believed in here that I would ask you to come on. We're going to close her eyes and bow our heads some of my friends Deacon's will come up to the front they'll turn around and they'll be looking if you raise your hand they will come to you.
Take two you take you to an office where you can quietly get questions answered believer in here. Let's let God do something. Let's not let this be another Sunday of Our Lives let this week look different let eternity look different because you were confronted by the word of God today and you're going to say God when you come to me you already have a yes from me.
