Did you know that there are actually two parts of Vision Baptist Church? Not only are there services in English, but we also have services for Spanish speaking people. La Iglesia Bautista Vision (Vision Baptist Church) meets at the same time as the English services do, in the main classroom next to children’s church. You might have heard the singing and preaching, because the church has been growing. Sunday School attendance averages around 20 to 25, while the main service is up to around 35. There is also a service on Wednesday nights, beginning at 7:15 and averaging around 20 people. Pastor Ronald Tubillas and his family have been faithfully serving in the church for five years, Pastor Ronald preaching every service and his wife giving a lady’s devotional Wednesday evenings.

What you may not be aware of is that Pastor Ronald actually pastors the Spanish segment of another church located in Norcross, Trinity Hill Baptist Church. Every Sunday afternoon, following the service at Vision, Pastor Ronald and a group of young people go to Trinity Hill to teach Sunday School classes, lead the singing, give devotionals, and various other jobs. This is an area full of opportunities to serve, so if you would like to help out (even if you don’t speak Spanish), you would be a huge blessing. There are services on Thursday nights at Trinity Hill as well. One area where the Lord is at work is in the life Brother Jose, one of the men of the Trinity Hill congregation. He has personally invited and brought 7 men to visit the church, 5 of which are attending regularly. It really is a joy and a blessing to see God working through the life of this man in such a powerful way. Also, the Foundations series of discipleship lessons were recently translated into Spanish thanks to the efforts of John Pearson and Miguel Sanabria, and one of the men in the Vision congregation is already receiving lessons from Pastor Tubillas.

The Lord is really blessing La Iglesia Bautista Vision, and is working through the Spanish church to touch the lives of many Hispanics in Alpharetta and Norcross. Even though we are from different cultures and speak different languages, we are all one family in Christ.

Our Thursday night service kicked off the first annual Latin Bridge conference.  We were able to hear from missionary Jason Holt to Chile about the importance of church planting in this area.  For decades,   people have been pouring their lives into the work around South America.  Missionaries have sacrificed and died to proclaim the gospel to those who never heard.  Now, we are sitting on the edge of a field that has been plowed, planted, and watered.  It just needs to be reaped.  It’s crunch time.  But many churches are pulling out  Latin America at this important time.  Even the Muslims, as missionary Chris Gardner told us, are beginning to push into South America while many churches do nothing.

Randy Stirewalt was our guest preacher for this special service.  F0r 35 years, Mr. Stirewalt served in Kenya.  The Lord used him in an powerful way and he has seen 280 churches started, with an average of over 38,000 believers.  For a man that God has used so greatly, he still has a sweet humility about him and has been able to teach us so much so far.  Tonight, he spoke out of Acts 14 on the Biblical principles of evangelism that Paul used.  Instead of just giving them the gospel and then leaving them like little babies, he worked with them and built them up in the faith.  He worked with them and discipled them into maturity. We look forward to hearing from Mr. Stirewalt throughtout the weekend.

Our series “The Ruling Kingdom” will give practical teaching on how we live as believers that have been taken from a kingdom of darkness into a kingdom of light! We are now on the winning side! We desire to live lives where it is obvious that we know that King Jesus rules and reigns over all!  This series will be a massive help to all the students of vision as they face the challenges and temptations of the world. During our 10 week campaign we will have a one night retreat. On the evening of January 27th we will leave for a 24 hour retreat to go further in our study. You will not want to miss out!
