Sunday in Review

December 16, 2019 By Robert Canfield Leave a Comment

We had another great service here at Vision Baptist Church this week!

Sunday morning Sean Chappell did the offering message. He preached from 2 Corinthians 9, explaining that God doesn’t care about the amount of money we give. God cares about our attitude towards giving, and we need to make sure when we give, we give cheerfully. I preached from Genesis 3. My message was about how Christmas is about God giving His life to pay our sin debt and then giving us the beautiful gift of salvation.

Sunday evening, the choir sang a special accompanied by several instruments, and everyone did a wonderful job. Zack Elrod made an announcement and praised the Lord for allowing Hamilton to be done with his cancer treatment. This is a huge blessing, and we praise God for His awesome work. The members of Vision Baptist Church accepted Tyler Ellis as our newest missionary to Argentina, making 46 church members out of Vision missionaries and a total of 67 missionaries out of Vision. He is also engaged to Lydia Bush, Jeff Bush’s daughter, and they will be married in June of 2020. We had a wonderful time celebrating Christmas on the South Forsyth and worshiping the Lord.  Betty and I read the Christmas story to the kids from Matthew 1. I preached from Matthew 2 about the second coming of Christ. We read the Bible, but we need to believe and expect the Bible to come true.
