Who are you strengthening in the Lord’s work

I Samuel 23:16 And Jonathan Saul’s son arose, and went to David into the wood, and strengthened his hand in God.

Saul is attempting to kill David. David is running for his life. As David is hiding out, Jonathan betrays his dad and seeks out David. His goal is not to harm David but to encourage David to do right. Jonathan wants David to stay strong and accomplish God’s will for his life.

As I read that, I consider my own life. Do I encourage, challenge, and motivate others to accomplish God’s will for their lives. Do I strengthen people in their service to God?

Spiritual warfare is trying. Living out all we are supposed to do gets tiring. God’s people are encouraged by the interest of a brother in Christ. The hunger to go on and accomplish great things from God is help with others believing in another’s ministry. Am I strengthening others to serve God better?
