Don’t plan what you will say

Luke 21:14 Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:

The context of this verse has nothing to do with preaching. I grew up hearing that I should depend on the Lord for what to say in the pulpit. I didn’t need to plan what I was going to say. I am afraid that those who follow that plan make it obvious they didn’t think before speaking.

The context of this verse is what will happen when Jesus would come back. This is a tribulation verse. The setting is people claiming to be Christ that are not, wars, natural disasters, and finally, them being arrested for their faith.

When they get arrested for their faith, He will give them what to say. They do not have to preplan that. They need to focus on doing the Lord’s will today and trust that He will take care of them on that day!
