We had another wonderful service here at Vision Baptist Church this week!
Sunday morning, we had several members from the Spanish church get baptized. Pastor Jimmy Soncco had the privilege of baptizing his son Caleb Soncco, along with Marcos Rodriguez, Liz Lara, and Astrid and Kathy Sontay. Pastor Jimmy has done an excellent job leading and growing his church and continues to do so! Robert Canfield also baptized a young man named Edgar. The choir sang a special and later in the service Noah Combs, Chris Fies, and Eric Whitholm, with Kristen Mize on the piano, sang a special. Our five-minute devotional was done by Shawn Chappllen, and he spoke from Ecc. 3. He explained that everything we have is a gift from God, and we need to thank Him for the opportunity to serve Him. Pastor Gardner closed the service by preaching from Job chapters 8-10. This was a powerful message reminding believers that Jesus interceded for us by dying on the cross so we could have a personal relationship with God. God knows our every feeling because He walked the earth as a man. As a result, we need to approach God with boldness and know that He is with us in every situation!
Sunday evening, we prayed over Jordan Cooke, who is leaving to begin her internship in Peru. We are very proud of Jordan, and all she has accomplished during her time here at Vision Baptist Church. We know God is going to use her in extraordinary ways. We also prayed for Lydia Bush, who is also heading to the mission field for several weeks. We know God is going to use her to reach others with the gospel and are excited to see how God works. Please pray for both of these ladies as they head to the mission field! The sermon from Pastor Gardner was out of Isaiah 65. God has brought us a new world evangelism force, and we need to be passionate about spreading the gospel to the world. God chose us when we didn’t know Him. Let that sink in. God loves us enough to save us when we rebel against Him and to take it a step further He has chosen us to reach the world with His truth. Praise the Lord for His love for us! This week, our mission should be to share our love for Christ with others so Christ may be glorified.
