Joshua 10:25 And Joshua said unto them, Fear not, nor be dismayed, be strong and of good courage: for thus shall the LORD do to all your enemies against whom ye fight.
It was the Lord that had fought for Israel against Gibeon. God had cast great stones from heaven. The rocks that fell from the sky had killed more than the warriors had killed with their swords. God had virtually stopped time for the battle. The sun and moon stood still.
It was a day like no other because God had heard a man’s prayer and fought for Israel. The five kings fled and hid in a cave. Joshua had his men bring them out. He reminded the people that God had given them victory. Joshua invited the men of Israel to put their feet on the necks of these kings.
Joshua then reminded the people that they need not live in fear. They could trust God. God had given them the victory that day and would continue to do so.
We need to look back on our story and see how God has moved. We need to remember His victories and remind ourselves that we too can trust God to win the victory. God has not given us a spirit of victory but of love and power and a sound mind. We live from victory to victory in what the Lord is doing in our lives.
