Have you heard?

Joshua 2:10 For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed.

Joshua had sent two men to spy out the land of Jericho. When they arrived in Jericho, they met a prostitute named Rahab. The king heard that the spies were in Rahab’s house. Rahab hid the spies. She took these risky steps because she had heard about God was blessing His people. She knew that God was going to give Joshua and the nation of Israel her land in victory over her people. All her friends were terrified. They knew the same truths that she knew.

Rahab acted on what she heard even though the others did not. She told the spies that she had listened to what the Lord was doing. She asked to be saved, rescued. She didn’t want to be destroyed. She was granted her request and made it into the people of God so much that she is included in the lineage of Jesus.

The exciting thing is that everyone else knew all she did. Some chose to live with their fear and probably rationalize their concerns away. They didn’t come and ask to be rescued.

That is much what happens with you as you read this. Some of you will know that God is who He says He is. You will have or already have gone to Jesus in faith and believed Him for salvation. Or you are one of the people that will live with your fear and try to ignore it. You will not believe it. You will try to figure out a way to make the truth not be real.

Why would you choose death when life is being offered you right now?
