Leviticus 19:18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.
We are to love our neighbor. We are to love people. We are not to try to get even with them when they do us wrong. We are not to go around angry, bitter, and hurt at other people. We are to love them like we would want to be loved. We are to love them as we love ourselves. We do all of this because He is God. He is the Lord. We serve the God of heaven. He wants us to be loving, kind, and forgiving people.
We get to the New Testament and learn that everyone is our neighbor, not just the ones that live next door. We learn that we are to love all and treat all well.
Now we ask ourselves the question, do we love others? Do we care about what happens to them? Are we concerned about their eternal destiny? When is the last time we considered how we could make a difference in the world? It is time to love our neighbor as ourself.
