Never trust in what you can do

Psalm 44:6 For I will not trust in my bow, Neither shall my sword save me.

It is so easy to trust in our weapons. We want to be able to carry a gun so that we can defend ourselves. The psalmist remembers that he will not trust his weapons. He knows that neither his bow or sword can save him. He will need God.

As you consider your eternal destiny consider that you will not be able to save yourself. You may be a perfect person, but no matter how good you are, it will not be enough. You can’t trust your weapons, your abilities. That is hard on our pride to consider. To think that we are unable goes against everything in us.

But salvation is of the Lord, not ourselves. We are helpless and unable. He loves you. He will save you. It means humbling yourself and considering Him and what He can and will do. Will you accept your failures and trust what God did and does for you on the cross.
