Exodus 23:9 Also thou shalt not oppress a stranger: for ye know the heart of a stranger, seeing ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.
Nothing brings more anger feelings than illegal aliens. We want to build a wall! I understand all the politics, I think but let’s consider what God told the Jews. They were not to take advantage of the stranger, the foreigner, the alien. They were to remember that they too, had lived in Egypt, which wasn’t their country. They should know what it felt like to not be respected and loved. They knew what it was like to be at the mercy of another government.
I simply challenge you to consider this verse in light of your attitude towards those that have moved here. Sometimes it can feel like an invasion. That is what Pharaoh thought about the Jews if you remember.
We should never take advantage of them because they are not from here. We should realize that God has allowed us to share the gospel with them. Let’s consider the heart of the stranger today!
