Enough for today

Exodus 16:18 And when they did mete it with an omer, he that gathered much had nothing over, and he that gathered little had no lack; they gathered every man according to his eating.

There is a great life lesson in this verse. God told His people to gather the manna. They were to gather for that one day. They were to pick enough for what they would eat. Those who gather too much would find none left over. Those who garnered less than enough would find it to be enough. God was providing each day what they needed. It was exactly what they needed.

We get to the New Testament, and God tells us to ask for our “daily bread!” In another place, we were told, “sufficient to the day is the evil thereof!” God works in the now. He works where we live now. He will take care of us now. Not yesterday and not tomorrow but now is what He has promised.

Are you worrying about tomorrow instead of today? Are you focused on what could have been instead of whatHe is doing today? There is a lesson in the manna. Please consider it!
