Matthew 20:24 And when the ten heard it, they were moved with indignation against the two brethren.

Everyone is jostling to be in the first place. We push and shove to get ahead. That is what two disciples are doing. They want to be on the right and left hand in the kingdom. They want the first and second place in leadership. The ten get angry when they see what their friends and co-laborers are doing.

We look at this and laugh. We laugh because it is so much like us. We might not have asked to be in the first and second p[lace but sure wanted it. We do, however, get angry with others taking advantage of their friendship and lack of inhibition.

If we choose to exalt ourselves, we will get embarrassed. If we humble ourselves, He will exalt us.
