Man’s imagination

Genesis 8:21 And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.

God had flooded the entire world. Yes, I believe in a worldwide flood. That is all I can see when I read the passage. The water covered the highest mountains.

Now the flood is over. Noah worships God with an offering, a sacrifice. God makes a promise that He will not again curse the ground because of man. God will also not kill every living thing as He had done.

The thing that grabs my attention is that the imaginations of man’s heart are evil from his youth. People think about themselves and never what God wants. We could focus on God, but instead, we want to make ourselves a God. What an evil imagination we have.

What I can do now that I am a believer is focus on HIm. I will try to seek Him in prayer each day. I will try to seek Him in the Scriptures. I will meditate on His Word during the day. I will consider Him in all that I am doing. I do not want this evil imagination.
