Jesus, the elect of God

Isaiah 42:1 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; Mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: He shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.

Isaiah prophesies about the coming of Jesus. Notice the words that God uses. He calls Jesus, this servant, His elect. He is delighted in HIm. He has put His spirit upon Him. This servant, speaking of Jesus. Will bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.

The Gentiles will hear the truth. They will be given the good news. This is a prophecy of Jesus getting the message of truth to the nations, the pagans, the Gentiles.

Jesus is the One that God will use to accomplish this ministry. He is the elect.

God is delighted with Him. He will use Him greatly. He shall accomplish God’s purposes for Him.

So anyone reading the Old Testament should have had an idea that the servant, the Messiah, was going to get the truth to the world.

Let’s be about our Father’s business which is getting the world to hear the truth of God and the ministry of His elect.
