Please hear me

Isaiah 37:17 Incline thine ear, O LORD, and hear; open thine eyes, O LORD, and see: and hear all the words of Sennacherib, which hath sent to reproach the living God.

Hezekiah has received a threat against his kingdom. In the threat, the wicked enemy even insults God. Hezekiah knows that God has the power to make a difference. He goes to God in prayer. He lays out the letter sent to him as a threat and insult to God. He wants God to listen.

Interesting is that Hezekiah believes that God is alive and a real person. He is not thinking. He is not talking to the empty air. Hezekiah is talking to God. God, a person that hears and answers prayer. He asks God to listen. He asks God to read the letter. He asks God to think about how the enemy has insulted God.

When you pray, do you believe that God is there? Do you believe that He hears and answers prayer? Do you think that He takes time for you? Do you think that He pays attention to you?

Real prayer is faith. Real faith believes that God is there. Real faith believes that not only is He there but that He will hear you. He will answer you. He delights to meet your needs, answer your prayers and be real to you.
