Isaiah 30:2 That walk to go down into Egypt, And have not asked at my mouth; To strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, And to trust in the shadow of Egypt!
God’s people were going down to Egypt for help. They were going to the false gods for help. They didn’t ask God but chose to seek out men for their support. They thought that a man could do for them what God couldn’t do. They trusted the might they saw with their eyes not the unseen might of Almighty God.
Do you fall into that trap? The trap of believing in money, in doctors, in people that are experienced for what you need. It is so easy to forget God. The last thing we do is pray. The least we can do is pray like as though God can’t or won’t do anything for us.
You could be doing that with your salvation. Maybe you prefer to trust yourself and what you can do. You think that you will go to heaven because of your good works. You seek to prove yourself. You want to establish your own goodness so that you can be confident of being good enough for Heaven.
It insults God when we go anywhere but to Him for help. He is God. He has all power. He can and will answer you. So trust God. Do not go to the arm of flesh for help. It will fail you. Trust God for your salvation and your life.
