Esther 3:8 And Haman said unto king Ahasuerus, There is a certain people scattered abroad and dispersed among the people in all the provinces of thy kingdom; and their laws are diverse from all people; neither keep they the king’s laws: therefore it is not for the king’s profit to suffer them.
Haman is a wicked man. He has a plan. He will cause the king to do what he wants. The king will think that he, the king, is acting in his own best interest. That will not be the case. It is being duped.
Haman tells him that some foreign people live in his country. These people have spread out all over the kingdom. Haman tells him that they have their laws. These people do not obey the king and his laws. They are causing the king to lose money, taxes, prestige, and position. The king should not allow it.
This is fake news at its best. It has some truth. Just enough fact to make it believable. It is being spun. Haman is telling it in such a way as to get the king to do his bidding. He wants to see Mordecai die.
How often are we misled when making big decisions? Someone gives us just enough truth to deceive us. We don’t think for ourselves. We do not research to be sure of the truth we believe them. Then we make a decision we shouldn’t
I think that is the story of those that listen to preaching without researching in the Bible for themselves. Yes, listen to preaching but please check out the truth. Be a student of the Word. Don’t read books about the Bible more than you read the Bible. Don’t let someone else do your thinking for you.
