Nehemiah 9:20 Thou gavest also thy good spirit to instruct them, and withheldest not thy manna from their mouth, and gavest them water for their thirst.
What a kind and merciful God we serve! They had rebelled against Him. They didn’t want to serve Him. He should have and could have destroyed them, but instead, He was kind to them. Notice in this verse that He gave them manna, food to eat and water to drink. He didn’t withhold His blessings and mercy.
He also sent His good spirit to instruct them. He didn’t walk away from them. He didn’t cut them off. He took care of them and continued to instruct them in what they were doing wrong. He taught and discipled them in their disobedience.
What a God! How much are we like Him? Do we keep loving people and trying to help them or do we cut them off? Do we separate ourselves from everyone just because they fail in some way?
Now as we look at how we handle hurting people, we have an example. Yes, they may have failed. They may have rebelled. They may have done unspeakable things, but maybe we should be there to love them and help them.
Regardless, think of how great the love of God is. Rejoice He loves you. He will keep loving you. If you are not faithful, He will be faithful still.
