Nehemiah 9:33 Howbeit thou art just in all that is brought upon us; for thou hast done right, but we have done wickedly:
Admitting wrong is very difficult for most of us. Acknowledging that God is right and I am wrong calls for real humility. They had suffered the consequences of their sin. Getting angry about consequences seems to be the norm. Accepting that God has done right in letting me deal with consequences is not normal or what we want to do.
God’s people were here admitting their wrong. They had done wickedly. When have you looked at God and told Him that you were wrong and He was right? When have you looked at the circumstances of life and accepted responsibility for what was happening to you?
A definite step towards real worship is repentance. It is admitting you did wrong and God has done right. It is seeing God as right and myself as wrong.
Are you ready for that? Are you prepared to see your sin and accept that you have brought those consequences on yourself?
It is time to admit your sin and His Lordship. It is time to own your guilt. Then you can trust His forgiveness and blessing.
