Nehemiah 8:8 So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading.
In Nehemiah 8:7 we see a list of names. There are thirteen specific names and then the Levites. They, as a group, “caused the people to understand the law: and the people stood in their place.”
Then we get to verse 8 and see that they were reading the Bible, giving the sense, and causing them to understand. Many were involved. This was a large number of people. There was a great need for many to be taught and discipled.
There is work for you to do. This wasn’t the work of only Ezra or Nehemiah. This was the work of a team of people. They were sharing the truth. They were seeing lives changed.
God’s people need God’s Word. There is a need for many to teach. Not all will be pastors, but all can be involved in discipling, teaching Sunday School, and other teaching opportunities. What are you doing to teach the Bible? You can teach in your home. You can get involved in your church. You need to be teaching God’s Word.
