Nehemiah 9:35 For they have not served thee in their kingdom, and in thy great goodness that thou gavest them, and in the large and fat land which thou gavest before them, neither turned they from their wicked works.
God gave them their own kingdom. They enjoyed all His generosity. They were living their dream. They didn’t realize that God had given them all that they were experiencing. They kept on in sin instead of honoring God.
Does this verse describe where we live and what we are doing? Are we enjoying blessings but forgetting that it is God that is giving us this great abundance?
Do you continue living selfishly? Do you remain in arrogance thinking you have done all to get what you have? Independence, self-reliance, etc. might be useful in many ways and times but not before God. We need to recognize our need of Him and His salvation. We need to honor Him for all He is doing in our lives.
