Reject the fear

January 19, 2019 By Austin Gardner Leave a Comment

Nehemiah 6:10 Afterward I came unto the house of Shemaiah the son of Delaiah the son of Mehetabeel, who was shut up; and he said, Let us meet together in the house of God, within the temple, and let us shut the doors of the temple: for they will come to slay thee; yea, in the night will they come to slay thee.

The enemy was trying to do all he could to cause the man of God to fear. He wanted Nehemiah to be paralyzed by fear. He wants Nehemiah to hide out in the temple. Nehemiah’s answer in the next verse is that he is not the type of man to run and hide. He would stand and trust God.

The devil, like a roaring lion, wanders about seeking us out to devour us. One of his tools is fear. He has no teeth. He is chained and limited, but he will cause us to doubt that. He threatens us. He has no power against the God of heaven. He can’t really do us the harm that he threatens with. But he can make us doubt. He can cause fear in our hearts which means we are now questioning God and His goodness.

Do not allow Satan to strike fear in your heart. Realize that he is unable to harm you without going through God first. Stand and be true. Stand and honor God. Do the right thing, and Satan will flee.

It is more Biblical to know that he is the coward. He knows he is defeated. He knows that he can’t harm us. If we resist him, he will take off running like the defeated cowardly foe that he is.
