Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. 29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. 31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? 32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth. 34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Let’s pray through Romans 8:28 to the end of the chapter.
We both know that God works everything out to good, even our failures. He does that because we are His. We love Him. He called us unto salvation. He has a purpose for our lives. We are not an accident. We are specially made with a particular purpose.
We know that He knows all about us and always has. Nothing we do surprises Him. He has a plan for us, and that plan is that we will be just like Jesus. He is forming His character in us. He does that because He is good. He does that not because of us. He does that in spite of our failures. He will prove that He can make many more just like Him.
We know that He has predestined us and He saved us, He made us right just like Jesus. He will glorify us and is already doing so
What can we say to such great truths? God is for us. Since God is for us, no one can be against us.
God gave His Son for us. He didn’t hold back the most valuable of Heaven. He gave Him for us. If He gave us Jesus is there anything, He wouldn’t provide us or do for us. Absolutely not.
Who can accuse us? Who can bring charges against us? God has justified us and continues to do so. God is the One who stands for us.
Who can say we deserve any punishment. Jesus Christ died and rose again for us. He has already sat down at the right hand of God. It is finished. His presence in heaven is a constant reminder that the work is done. He is there for us.
Who can cause Jesus not to love us? There is no trouble, no problem, no persecution, no need, nothing. We are nothing and have nothing to make Him love us, but He is just who He is, good, gracious and merciful.
Doesn’t matter what happens we are more than winners. We are conquerors through Him and His love for us. I know that nothing can separate me from His love. If I die or live, if angel or demon come to fight, If the future or even things of today are mentioned, we are winners. Literally, there is nothing that can cause Him to love me less or more. From the highest heaven to the lowest hell nothing can separate us from His love. That is the love of the Lord Jesus Christ.
