Nehemiah 3:20 After him Baruch the son of Zabbai earnestly repaired the other piece, from the turning of the wall unto the door of the house of Eliashib the high priest.
People were working all up and down the wall, but only one gets the extra word added to his work, earnestly. This man was repairing the wall just like so the others, but he was energetically doing so. He was showing real zeal. He was earnest in his work. He was burning energy with a red-hot glow. He was doing what he had to do with all of his heart, all of his strength. He realized he wasn’t working for the city or Nehemiah but for the Lord.
He worked. He realized that there was a higher purpose to his existence than merely building a wall, he was glorifying his God.
Are you working at it? Are you energetically serving God or just getting by? Do you from your heart really want to bring honor and glory to God? Is He the reason you do what you do?
