Nehemiah 3:5 And next unto them the Tekoites repaired; but their nobles put not their necks to the work of their Lord.
As Nehemiah was building the wall, many people got involved. The Tekoites worked very hard. They traveled to get involved. They did more than most on the wall. There was one problem. Their nobles, the rich, their leadership, refused to work. They wouldn’t stoop to get their hands dirty. They didn’t want to get involved in the menial.
I need always to be asking myself if I am developing an attitude about the work of God. When we first get saved, we are excited to talk about Him. There is no ministry too small for us. We are just happy to serve but has the day come when you think too highly of yourself. Have you become a noble that is too good to help?
In the list of all that are busting it hard to get the job done some will not work. Some have decided that they will enjoy the benefits but not endure the burden.
Are you involved in the ministry in your church? Are you are a server or do you want to be the served?
