Nehemiah 4:20 In what place therefore ye hear the sound of the trumpet, resort ye thither unto us: our God shall fight for us.
The beauty of this passage is that Nehemiah and the people knew that they were not alone. They were to be ready. They were to fight together. They were to do their part, but God was with them and would not leave them alone. That is an excellent consolation.
God working in our lives is never an excuse not to do what we should do. We do not sit idly by and wait on God. Instead, we get to work. We do all we know to do. Then as we are working, we expect God to work in our lives and ministries.
At the same time, we can have confidence that He is going to work in our lives. We can expect, anticipate, His working in our lives and ministries.
