Isaiah 31:3 Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; And their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the LORD shall stretch out his hand, Both he that helpeth shall fall, and he that is holpen shall fall down, And they all shall fail together.
God wanted His people to recognize that there is a significant difference between God and His Spirit and horses and human strength. We want to depend on humans, money, what we see and understand.
God wants us to depend on Him.
If you depend on yourself, you will be disappointed. If you depend on others, you will also be frustrated. If you trust God, you will not be disappointed or frustrated. I challenge you to know where to put your eyes.
God will judge sin. God will judge everyone. Everyone will fail without God. So for salvation, you must depend on God. For an abundant life, you need God. There is no other way.
Who are you trusting? What are you depending on to give you joy?
