Nehemiah 1:11 O Lord, I beseech thee, let now thine ear be attentive to the prayer of thy servant, and to the prayer of thy servants, who desire to fear thy name: and prosper, I pray thee, thy servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the king’s cupbearer.
Nehemiah cries out to God. He begs God to pay attention to His request. He is leading in prayer for many servants of God. Nehemiah reminds God that they love and respect Him. He wants God to bless his request. He knows that he needs mercy that only God can give him.
This should be our heart. We go to God believing that He hears. We pray because we do fear Him or worship and honor Him. We know that whether or not we prosper depends on Him. We really need God. We need His mercy. We do not deserve an answer. We do not deserve that He make us prosper or bless us. We simply ask Him.
Do you pray? Do you ask God to work in your life? God is a prayer-hearing and answering God. Prayer should be a constant part of our life.
