Ezekiel 44:31 The priests shall not eat of any thing that is dead of itself, or torn, whether it be fowl or beast.
God’s people were not to take road kill to the temple for God’s men to eat. God never wanted any of His people anything that died of natural causes, was wounded and died of its wounds, or anything of the sort. If an animal dies without being killed then who knows why it died. If it died even of injuries, the question would be how long has it been dead.
God didn’t want His people to get sick from contaminated meat. It was that simple. God knew before scientist knew about proper food preparation.
Do not offer to God things that are of no value to you. Do not pick up something dead and give it to God to try to get some benefit from it when you no it is worthless.
