Water in the desert

Psalm 84:6 Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; The rain also filleth the pools.

This valley of Baca refers to an arid, difficult, place that people passed through on the way to their destination. It was as though they might be passing through horrible times but God blessed even in the middle of the worst. It was God giving grace to His people in the worst of situations.

You may be sad. You may be crying under the burdens and the loads you are carrying, but God has not abandoned you. There in your desert of loneliness and despair, He will be there to comfort you. When you thirst, He has the water you need.

God turns the worst of our situations into a blessing. He makes our desert a place filled with water. Look for the benefits. Look for how God is working in your life.

He gives songs in the night is another way of expressing this same truth. He is our Comforter as we pass through the trials of life and death. He gives joy even in sadness.
