God did it

Job 1:16 While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The fire of God is fallen from heaven, and hath burned up the sheep, and the servants, and consumed them; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

How quickly we blame God. We think if something terrible happens He must be at fault. We never consider that it could be us. We never believe that it could Satan. We never feel that it could be the result of a wicked and fallen world or how sin has corrupted and destroyed our bodies. It must be God.

That was the message they took to Job. The fire of God had fallen from heaven. That fire had destroyed Job’s animals and servants.

We know the story. It was not God. It was Satan. Job will know before the story finished that it wasn’t God at all. Will you?

Would you consider what is happening in your life? Would think about the God of the Bible and ask yourself if He is trying to hurt you or those that you love? Could there be another reason or cause?

If you want God to be honored, then you will trust Him. You will know that He loves you and will only do and allow what is best for you as you glorify God.
