I Kings 15:26 And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin.
This man did evil in the sight of the Lord. He was following his dad’s example. That is a horrible testimony for a father. To think that your children would do wrong because they had watched you and were following your example. It is time for dad to consider his testimony. You should be thinking about what you are doing because little eyes and little ears are seeing and hearing all that you say and do.
The biggest sin here is that not only did he sin but he used his influence to get others to sin. He made his friends, his people to sin. How many are you influencing to do wrong? How many walk away from God because of what you are saying or doing?
Let’s remember that we have much more influence than we think. Others are watching. We are influencing their lives and future more than we would ever like to think.
