I Kings 8:58 That he may incline our hearts unto him, to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his judgments, which he commanded our fathers.
God, please incline our hearts towards you. Direct our hearts and thoughts to you so that we will think on you and concentrate on you. We want to keep your commandments and do what pleases you. We want to honor you by obeying you. We ask you to help us do what you want and what you have put in our hearts to want.
This verse is a good prayer for all of us. We love Him. We want to serve Him. We hunger to be like Him because He is our Father. It is good to pray and ask Him to work in our lives drawing us to Him.
The old hymn said, “Draw me nearer, nearer!” and that is our prayer today.
