Deuteronomy 30:15 See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;
God is telling His people what His will is. He wants them to obey Him. If they obey, they will get life and good. If they disobey Him, they will get death and evil.
That means that in this life there are consequences even if you are God’s child. If you do right then, you will be blessed. If you do wrong, then you will suffer.
Evil here means terrible things will happen. Death here means that sin can kill you. God offers His blessings, or you can choose to disobey and get the opposite.
This verse, promise, isn’t referring to heaven or hell but to what happens in this life. The context will make that clear. So many take grace to mean that they are free and that is true. But freedom is for living for God, not for sinning. If you sin you will not lose your salvation but you will bring great problems into your life. Choose to obey. Choose life.
