Deuteronomy 1:39 Moreover your little ones, which ye said should be a prey, and your children, which in that day had no knowledge between good and evil, they shall go in thither, and unto them will I give it, and they shall possess it.
God now tells His people that He is going to bless their children. They had accused Him of harming their children. The children didn’t make that decision. God wanted His people to get all He had for them. He had the promised land for them. He had prepared great things, houses they didn’t build, gardens they didn’t plant. All they had to do was believe Him. They would have to go and fight the giants, but He promised them victory.
They complained that if they obeyed God that their children would be victims, fall prey. God had taken from them the privilege of enjoying all that He had. He would give it to their children because they didn’t know and didn’t make the decision. Those under the age of twenty would be given all that God had for their parents. God lets His people know that He will be kind to the children.
He is offended that they even though He might harm or allow their children to be prey. Do you blame God and accuse Him of risking your children’s lives and futures? God loves you and your children.
