Numbers 32:23 But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out.
The twelve tribes of Israel are about to take the promised land. Two and a half tribes decide to stay on the wrong side of the river. God allows them to do so if they will go and fight with their brothers. If they abandon their brothers, then God will punish them. Abandoning their brothers will be a sin against God.
How often do I think of me and not of my spiritual family, of others? So often we fail to consider all our brothers and sisters in Christ. We think only of ourselves, just what we want. God wanted His people united. They were to recognize each other. They were to think of each other.
The New Testament is full of “one another!” God told us to love one another. We are to serve one another. Amazing our lives are to be lived in community. We are not to abandon our brothers!
