Choose, decide, you can’t be neutral

July 4, 2018 By Austin Gardner Leave a Comment

Exodus 32:26 Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the LORD’s side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him.

Moses has just come down from the very presence of God. The people have been worshipping an idol, a false god, a golden calf. Moses, it makes it clear that the people must choose. They will decide whether to stay with family and friends or serve God. They will determine whether right is more important than social relations.

This choice takes them into tough times. They have been wrong. They know it. Now the time has come to stay with their sin and friends or choose God over all else. The Levites decide to stand with God.

The next thing that happens will test their resolve. They will have to stand directly against family, friends, and coworkers but for God.

You must decide. Every day you are faced with decisions that make you choose. Your choice is to sin or not to sin, to please God or to please yourself, others, or sin. Which will you choose? Have you made your choice clear?

It will cause you to lose friends. It will mean taking a disagreeable stand. The choice is yours.
