Meditating

Genesis 24:63 And Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the eventide: and he lifted up his eyes, and saw, and, behold, the camels were coming.

Isaac will see a sight that he has longed for as his new wife arrives. The real truth I want to focus on in this verse is that Isaac went out to meditate.

We should all practice Biblical meditation. We should take time to think, to contemplate what God has done for us. We should meditate on His truth. We should meditate on what He wants us to do. That means that dedicate our thoughts to God and His will. It means that we intentionally put ourselves to thinking about God and what He wants.

Do you take time often to think about God and His Word? Do you consider God’s will for your life? Do you meditate on what you are reading and studying in the Bible? It is a beautiful thing to take time for God. I hope you will make meditation a part of your life.
