II Corinthians 7:10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.
Sorrow is a part of our lives. We do things we shouldn’t. We are embarrassed. We are sorry because we hurt a relationship. My dad used to discipline me. I would tell him that I was sorry. He would often ask if I was sorry for what I did or the fact that I was about to be punished. The truth is that most often I was sorry I was getting in trouble.
True, godly sorrow will bring us to repentance. We will be ready to see the error of our ways and obey God. The other sorrow leaves you crying in your beer and still living and doing the same as before. The crying in your beer sorrow will lead you to death and hell.
Which kind of sorrow have you experienced? Have you come to see your sin and your need of a Savior? If not why not now?
