Acts 11:19 Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only.
God’s people stayed in place once saved. They didn’t spread out across the globe though that was the command. They remained in the same place and enjoyed all God was doing. God had to allow persecution to make them run. They then went to other areas, as commanded, and God began saving people.
They only preached to Jews. They believed that God was just saving His people, the Jews, though they were never taught that. They didn’t intend to be racist but were indeed acting like they were.
Are you spreading out and sharing God’s truth with others? Are you opening yourself up to reach those of other ethnic, racial, national groups? What will it take to get the church of today back into the work of preaching the Word to the world?
