Luke 17:32 Remember Lot’s wife.
One of wildest stories in the Bible is that of Lot’s wife. She loved the world of sin more than the will of her Savior. She looked back longingly to the past instead of submitting and seeking the promise that God had given.
She turned into a pillar of salt. She lost because she couldn’t make up her mind to leave the past. She dwelt on the past. She loved the past. She feared the future. She didn’t trust God.
We were told to remember Lot’s wife because we suffer from the same sins and temptations. We adjust our past to what we believe sounds best. It we want we make it horrible. If we want we make it better than it was. Whatever we dwell on the past and hang on to what we have and know. We are afraid to trust God for whatever else He has for us.
So remember Lot’s wife. Realize that looking back hurts and costs. Trust God. Look forward to whatever He has for you. Leave the past where it is.
