Matthew 20:15 Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good?
God gave each worker what he wanted. He gave the least per hour precisely what He had agreed to provide. He didn’t cheat anyone. However, it might look like it wasn’t fair. He gave the ones that worked all day the same as the ones that had only worked an hour. He had agreed with the first on their wage, but now that they saw what others received they wanted a new contract.
We judge how we are treated by comparing ourselves with others rather than seeing what we were promised or what we truly deserve. God is the owner. We are just servants. We belong to Him. Put bluntly we are His property. He brought us for a price.
We like it that we have been purchased and belong to Him when it comes to talking about salvation. We do not like it so much when it is speaking of Him doing with us as He pleases.
I want more. I think I deserve more and better. I get jealous. I get upset. I focus on me and not God. I need to realize that He is God. I need to be thankful for what He gives me and what He is doing in my life.
