Hosea 2:14 Therefore, behold, I will allure her, And bring her into the wilderness, And speak comfortably unto her. 15 And I will give her her vineyards from thence, And the valley of Achor for a door of hope: And she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, And as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.
God’s people had been unfaithful. They had gone after other gods. God loved His people. He wanted them and their love. He promises to bring them back, to love them, to restore them. He will turn the valley of Achor, their worst memory, into a door of hope. He will give His people their joy back. God is so good and kind.
This is a good picture of His love for all of us. He loves you, brother or sister, who have wandered away. He is calling you back. He will restore you and give you your joy. Return to Him and enjoy His blessings and presence.
This is also a good picture of how we can restore our marriages that are in trouble.
Allure your spouse, flirt with them. Get them back. Make them want to work on the relationship.
Get alone with your spouse and redevelop your intimacy.
Speak comfortably, kind and loving words.
Give your spouse gifts.
Help restore the joy to your marriage.
These are just some things to consider as you read this verse!
