Daniel 2:30 But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living, but for their sakes that shall make known the interpretation to the king, and that thou mightest know the thoughts of thy heart.
I love the way Daniel speaks to the king. He had every opportunity to make much of himself but didn’t. While others would have used God’s gift and work to do something selfish Daniel doesn’t. Daniel says that God didn’t help him because he was special. God gave the answers so the king might know.
This verse causes me to question how many times I seek to push myself forward. Do I use God for my interests? Do I take advantage of God’s gifts for selfish purposes? Do I seek to boast or brag about myself? I think that I am more guilty that I would like to admit.
