Ezekiel 24:18 So I spake unto the people in the morning: and at even my wife died; and I did in the morning as I was commanded.
Ezekiel’s wife died. He had preached that morning. He continued doing the Lord’s work even the next day. He didn’t let anything hinder him from doing what he was supposed to do. He loved God. Jesus told us to hate even our own life in comparison to how much we love Him. I often let little things discourage me and get me off track. That is not the lesson we see being practiced in the life of Ezekiel.
What does it take to get you to slack off in your service to God? What have you used as an excuse in the past? How dedicated are we? I want to learn from this example and make it real in my life that I put Jesus first. I want to not get off track. I do not want to make excuses for not serving Him.
