Jeremiah 2:28 But where are thy gods that thou hast made thee? let them arise, if they can save thee in the time of thy trouble: for according to the number of thy cities are thy gods, O Judah.
God’s people were in trouble. They needed help. When they call on God, He reminds them that they turned from Him. They chose to make gods for themselves. Every city and people made a god, and now they want the one and only true God to come to their rescue. He tells them to go to their gods. Why can’t they help them?
So often we push God to the dark corners, the deep recesses of our heart in the good times. We want to call on Him when we get in trouble we just do not want to be bothered by Him under normal circumstances. These verses let you know what God thinks of that!
